The media handling requires that the media database has been setup and that it has been configured for your project - please refer to your administrator if in doubt. The media database currently only supports sound files, but images are planned.

Link to a sound file

To create a link to a sound file, insert the tag that has been designated for this from the template picker. Selecting the tag will open the section Resource of the attribute panel. The edit button here will open a search dialog that will allow you to search for the required media record by

language
word
part-of-speech
phonetic

The search result is displayed in the middle and a blue speaker means the sound file is available and you can listen to it by clicking the speaker. A red speaker means the sound file is not yet available, but you can nevertheless link to the media record and the sound file will be available once it's been recorded and uploaded to the media database.

To link to a media record, select it and 'Insert media'.

If the media record you are after is not available (in the case of neologisms, for example), you can create and link to it with the necessary information and once the sound file has been recorded and uploaded it will be available.

Finally, you can feedback on the quality of a particular sound file by setting the sound file status.

Listen to a sound

If a media record has been associated with a media tag, the Resource panel will display a speaker icon. You can listen to it by clicking the icon and if necessary modify/feedback as described above.
